Your own stagecoach
Crafting
A stagecoach comes in eleven woods: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo, crimson and warped. The recipe, with the planks of the wood you want:
| Planks | Chest | Planks |
| Lead | Block of Diamond | Lead |
| Block of Diamond | Block of Gold | Block of Diamond |
That’s 27 diamonds and 9 gold ingots per coach: a road network is something you build up over time. The recipe book shows it the first time you hold a block of diamond. All eleven are on the Stagecoaches creative tab.
Placing
A coach needs a clear space 3 wide, 3 tall and 6 long, and it faces away from you.
Hold one and aim at the ground: a see-through preview shows where it would go. Green means it fits; red means it doesn’t, with anything in the way shaded red. If it still won’t place, the action bar says why:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not enough room for the stagecoach: … is in the way | Clear the block or move the mob it names |
| A stagecoach can’t stand on … | Pick other ground: the server has ruled that block out |
| Part of the stagecoach would stand on land you can’t build on | A claim, spawn protection or the world border is in the way |
| The stagecoach won’t fit this close to the edge of the world | Too near the top or bottom of the world |
| Stagecoaches can’t be placed in this dimension | The server doesn’t allow coaches here |
| You already have N stagecoaches, the most allowed on this server | Take one of yours down first |
On claimed land, the preview can show green and the coach can still be refused: only the server knows about claims.
Naming
When the coach is down, a screen asks for its name: up to 24 letters. That name is what everyone sees in their destination list. The stop is yours and you’ve discovered it already.
Renaming
Open the destination list at your own coach and click the name-tag button in its top corner. Only the owner (or an operator) can rename a stop.
Taking it down
Break any part of the coach and the whole thing comes down, dropping the stagecoach item (in survival). By default only its owner, or an operator, can take a coach down, and explosions can’t touch it. Village stops are locked: nobody can break them.
Taking a coach down removes the stop from everyone’s list. Anyone travelling to it is put back where they set off, with their fare returned.
Looking at a coach
With Jade installed, looking at any part of a coach shows its name, its owner, and whether you’ve discovered it.
